New York Court System. Provides helpful information and links to all county and state courts. Includes information on local laws, bail, etc. This website also includes answers to frequently asked questions post-arrest.

Digest of New York Criminal Law and Procedure. Contains all criminal laws, statutes, and procedure of New York Law. The site is full-text searchable and includes the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, Vehicle and Traffic Law, and Penal Code. The site is fully indexed and includes definitions to commonly used legal terms.

New York Inmate Lookup. New York Department of Corrections website providing a platform to search for inmates. Search for inmates by name or in combination with a birth year . The site also includes instructions for visiting inmates and sending mail/packages to inmates.

New York Programs For Inmates. Discusses the New York Earned Eligibility Program, Merit Time, and Presumptive Release. These are all programs available to certain inmates of the New York Department of Corrections to ensure that inmates are provided with productive services and potential sentence reduction.

New York State Constitution. Full-text of the Constitution of the State of New York. The Constitution provides readers with an understanding of their rights as citizens of New York, including the right to a trial, bail, and civil rights.

National Institute of Justice. The legal research and policy arm of the U.S. Department of Justice, providing thorough articles and information on issues within criminal law. For example, the site has excellent articles on excessive use of force by police officers.

Make A Complaint to NYC Jail System. Provides internet users with a fillable form to submit a complaint to the New York City jail system. Users may choose to use their name or remain anonymous.
